Once a year in early October, Grace joins Christians around the world in celebrating the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of the environment and animals, with an outdoor service and Pet Blessing in Printers Row Park. Your pet is a blessing in your life, so bring them to get blessed at this service designed for animals and their humans. The service begins at 10AM.

For many, the holidays can bring feelings of loneliness, sadness, and grief. If you need refuge or solace this season, the Blue Christmas service provides a space of quiet holiness, a time of prayer and meditation, and a reminder that we’re not alone. Come as you are. Such services are reflective, accepting where we really are, and holding out healing and hope.

Grace is a proud partner of Printers Row Lit Fest, the biggest and longest-running fest in our neighborhood. Each year, we host author talks in our sanctuary and an exhibitor table on Dearborn Street, where we invite fest goers to enter to win a free book in our drawing. Stop by and enter to win.

Grace invites a local author for a conversation following the 10am Sunday service. Check back to this page for the announcement of the 2027 featured author in the spring. Hope to see you there!

Grace members lead and serve the church by sharing the skills and their time in a variety of ways. There is room for you and your talents at Grace too.

–Bread Bakers – A team of volunteers bake our gluten-free communion bread for the Sunday service. The recipe is simple and each baker makes several loaves just 3 to 4 times during the year.

–Building Committee – This group cares for our building – Grace Place – by assessing, recommending, and facilitating improvements and repairs.

–Communications Committee – This group creates and maintains Grace’s key communication platforms, including a weekly digital newsletter, the website, social media accounts, and Sunday announcements.

–Grace Singers – Musical members of the church add beauty and joy to worship as a seasonal choir throughout the liturgical year. Singing on special occasions such as All Saints Sunday, the first Sunday of Advent, and Pentecost Sunday, the group rehearses immediately after the service on the Sundays leading up to a choir Sunday.

–Preaching Guild – While the rector regularly preaches on Sundays, the Grace pulpit welcomes our clergy, trained lay preachers, and retired clergy in the congregation to preach throughout the year. This variety of voices and perspectives adds a richness to our worship life as a congregation.

–Liturgy Committee – This group gathers to shape the worship for the different liturgical seasons (Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, Season after Pentecost) throughout the year. Members consider the different worship elements such as theme, music, sanctuary decor and arrangement.

–Sunday Server Team Leads – It takes many hands to make Grace’s worship happen each Sunday. From greeting to reading, acolyting to hosting Coffee Hour, Sunday Server team members work alongside the clergy and staff to ensure a beautiful and meaningful morning.

–Service and Advocacy Committee – This group leads our giving and serving opportunities, including the Straut Legacy Trust Grant process where Grace grants up to $25,000 each year to worthy nonprofit organizations.

-Vestry – The Vestry stewards the church’s mission and ministry in the Episcopal tradition. Vestry members are elected by the congregation to represent them in temporal matters. They work closely with the Rector to guide and support the parish’s work, striving to make wise and prayerful decisions.
